Pabst Farms YMCA Fishing Jamboree
July 2008

Oliver Construction employees participated in the YMCA Pabst Farms annual Special Programs Night Fishin'. This annual event is held to provide an opportunity for Special needs individuals to enjoy an evening of food, fishing and fun. This years outing began with a "cook-out", hosted by Bill & Joyce Chapman. After dinner the twenty-two participants gathered their fishing gear and "cast-off" for an evening of fishing on Lac La Belle. Other volunteers contributing to the success of the event were YMCA Special Program Staff and Directors and Members of the Oconomowoc Rotary Club.

Oliver Charitable Event Golf Outing
July 2008

Oliver Construction Co. held the 18th Annual Oliver Open - Charitable Golf Outing on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the scenic Kettle Moraine Country Club in Dousman, WI. The event began with a luncheon, followed by a "shotgun" start of the teams and ended with dinner and the awarding of prizes. Individuals in attendance included customers, subcontractors, material suppliers as well as current and past employees. This year, as in the past 17 years, funds were raised for another local family. The primary focus of the event is to raise funds for families that have had to endure unfathomable financial distress when a tragic event has altered their lives and the lives of other family members. Being in the construction business, our hearts were particularly touched by the misfortune of "one of our own" - a special individual in the extended "Oliver family". This year's recipient is the granddaughter of one of our recently retired employees. She is the only child of his son, a self-employed individual in the construction industry. The family health insurance coverage has been depleted by the on-going consultation with specialists in an effort to diagnose the cause of the young child's inability to walk or talk at the age of four years old. We are hopeful, through the additional funds raised at this years event, the specialists will continue to work to unravel the mystery of her present condition and provide options for successful treatment. The Trek Bicycle Corp. expansion project wasn't just about getting more space. The 78,850-square-foot addition was also about getting Trek employees under one roof in a building that matches the company's mission. Oliver Construction's design and construction of a light-filled space with clean, modern lines did just that.
